Greetings AFA,

We hope the new year is providing the invigorating motivation to embark on all that is in store for you! Sankofa is taking advantage of the new year and the wealth of opportunity.

Last fall, we had the tremendous opportunity to collaborate with Big Sister Little Sister in a Toy Drive for the non-profit organization Kids Count, offering free after-school programs for elementary school students in Alachua County. We also provided a space to collect food donations for Peaceful Paths. This semester we continue the spirit of giving back to the Gainesville community.

December Graduate Mouray Hutchinson and Sankofa Advisor, Dr. Courtney Moore Taylor celebrate at the December General Body Meeting.

Other special moments this year included recognizing our Fall graduates, Mouray Hutchinson and Tatum Skove, at our December GBM and encouraging our AFA majors and minors to study abroad.

We are always actively recruiting members and officers, so if you are interested in leadership and are passionate about community service and professional development, Sankofa is the place for you!

Please look forward to more exciting events from Sankofa and information on our upcoming election in April.
