Dr. Ashley Robertson Preston is an author, curator and currently a lecturer in African American Studies at the University of Florida. She is a proud graduate of Howard University where she studied African Diaspora History. Her past positions include serving as director of the Mary McLeod Bethune FoundationNational Historic Landmark at BethuneCookman University while she also was an archives technician for the National Archives for Black Women’s History at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council HouseNational Historic Site. She is also the author of Mary McLeod Bethune in Florida: Bringing Social Justice to the Sunshine State. Dr. Preston is passionate about history and she believes that preserving it is just as important as sharing it.
