The UF African American Studies Program Expresses Support for DACA
The African American Studies Program at the University of Florida would like to our support for the students and others affected by the suspension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy. DACA was established by the Obama administration in June 2012. It allowed individuals who entered the United States as minors to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and eligibility for a work permit. Approximately 800,000 people benefited from this executive order and lived as productive participants in the United States.
